Katsuya finally opened its doors this past Saturday at the new Jumeirah Al Naseem hotel. With views of Burj Al Arab, the restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Accents of wood and marble can be seen through out its interior, and the sushi counter right in the middle of the restaurant as the main focal point.
I waited for what seemed to be an eternity for Katsuya to reopen again in Dubai since its previous location at Dubai Mall closed. It has been my one of my favorite Japanese restaurants since visiting it for the first time in Los Angeles about 7 years ago, and I am happy it is finally here once gain and soon another one will open at Riverland in Dubai Parks and Resorts too.
The menu offers plenty of amazing and creative dishes! My favorites are the following: crispy rice with spicy tuna, yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño, miso marinated black cod (not pictured) and the creamy rock shrimp (this one is too good to even begin to describe!) This opening day we decided to go crazy and try something new, the seared tuna tacos and a chocolate matcha cake, which were both so good and quite possibly a keeper. Their famous cocktails are finally part of their menu here in Dubai, and most definitely worth a try!
