Yas Viceroy is by far the most futuristic hotel I have even been to, designed with speed and motion in mind. It is located directly on the F1 circuit, something that quickly drew me in as I vividly remember watching every race as a child for Ayrton Senna, my favorite driver of all time.
The breathtaking glass and steel structure that covers the hotel is the first thing I noticed as we drove up, it is hard not to be amazed by such beautiful and unique architecture. This veil like design is illuminated at night by numerous led lights, which changes color and it is visible from miles away, truly a magical sight.
Making our way to the room we quickly realised that this is the place to be during the F1 Grand Prix weekend which is right around the corner in November. There are so many spots with a view of the track including some rooms. This has to be one of the most luxurious and comfortable ways to experience F1 weekend. Their staff informed us that there are plenty of dinning option with a view of the race track during this thrilling weekend, ideal for those not wishing to spend the night but still looking for a unforgettable experience.
Even though we had a short stay of only one night, we surely enjoyed the attentive service of Yas Viceroy. We were splurged to a massive suite with a large balcony facing the marina and an even larger bathroom! The decor is very modern and everything including the window blinds are remote controlled.
There’s a total of 11 dining and lounge venues to satisfy any possible food craving at Yas Viceroy. We had dinner at Angar for their Indian cuisine, which was delicious. Later we made our way to Skylite, a super stylish rooftop bar where I enjoyed free drinks as Monday is their ladies night, sorry Ogi no free drinks for you!
I loved the fact that the next morning we could enjoy the rooftop pool all to ourselves, as it opens super early at 6AM. After that we headed to their state of the art gym which is open 24 hours, It has an open and bright feel with windows surrounding the entire facility and views of the marina. This made our work out even more fun and brought up a huge apetite just in time for breakfast.
Our breakfast was hardy, there was a made-to-order omelette section, plenty of fruits and bircher muesli in many different flavours. But was got to us was the view of the circuit where we watched cars drifting while sipping our cappuccinos!
Even though it was a quick getaway for us, we really enjoyed the entire Yas Viceroy experience. We hope to return for a formula 1 race or even drive in the circuit ourselves! That would be a dream come true for the both of us.
