SLAB has recently opened its doors, and this sure will get people taking. This home-grown concept of a social eatery brings a creative menu of dishes inspired by global food trends, with a unique pairing of ingredients and rich flavors. It’s located in La Mer, Dubai’s newest beachfront oasis.
The interior’s minimalistic decor is all in tones of grey and white, making the food the focus point at all times. Ceiling high windows give you an outdoor feeling even when sitting inside, which is so good considering the location. I would definitely recommend the chef’s table, set right beside the open kitchen to watch the creative process.
The menu will be constantly changing in order to always have the best produce of the season, making it even more exciting time after time. Currently, my top 3 dishes are: Roasted Root Vegetables in a dreamy walnut sauce, Beef Tataki and the Dukkah Fried Chicken. It is easy to over order as everything from the menu sounds so good, but I would highly recommend saving room for dessert.
I loved The Mafroukeh Cheesecake, a yogurt cheesecake with pistachio and semolina paste beautifully presented in an innovative way. It tasted divine. Ogi’s favorite was the Pain Perdu, yuzu soaked french toast with macerated berries and white chocolate custard. Are you getting hungry yet? Cause I sure am!
SLAB’s concept is to create masterpieces that are soulful for both the eyes and taste buds, and I believe they have achieved just that!
Visit SLAB for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They are open from 10am to 12am everyday.
