We were upgraded to the most insta-worthy suite at The St. Regis Abu Dhabi. A perfect way to start my birthday celebrations, which admittedly lasted all month long. Ogi truly loved me for that!!
The St. Regis Abu Dhabi is located on the corniche with its own private beach and within close proximity to most of the city’s sights. I love beautiful interiors, and immediately got goose bumps walking into the lobby. It really is magical seeing the grand dual staircase and many crystal chandeliers trough-out the large space. This palatial lobby was designed to blend elements of the St. Regis’s New York hotel with those of the Arabic culture.
At the top of the grand staircase is where the Crystal Lounge is found, famous for offering the world’s finest champagnes. The award winning Villa Toscana is also located on the same floor, where we would be having dinner that night. In addition to these, there are four other restaurants/lounges at The St. Regis Abu Dhabi.
An elevator ride to the 43rd floor, en-route to our corner suite. The grand deluxe suite has the GRAND statement and perfect for those insta-worthy shots. The first thing that got us was the view seen from floor-to-ceiling windows, even in our bathroom.
After drooling over the view for a good ten minutes, we decided to move on to the welcome gift (indulge is a better word to describe it.) There were so many yummy pastries, chocolates and savory sandwiches. As if that wasn’t enough to spoil us, The St. Regis Abu Dhabi takes pampering to another level offering all guests with complimentary packing and unpacking, shoe shining services, garment pressing and a 24-hours butler service!
After enjoying our suite way too much, we finally made our way for dinner at Villa Toscana. I love that this restaurant was designed in a way to make their guests feel like they are dinning in a Tuscan villa savoring hand-crafted, regional Italian specialties from Tuscany.
We started our experience with a glass of white wine, burrata cheese and parmigiana for our appetizers. For mains, we had three kinds of raviolis!! Saving a little room for dessert is a no brainer for Ogi and I, we shared the traditional tiramisu and the modern take in a popsicle called Magnum di tiramisu. Every dish we tried was delicious, full of flavor and well presented. I also loved that the staff were all Italian, giving me a chance to practice the little Italian I know.
After the most amazing sleep, we had a huge appetite for breakfast. Not sure how, after all that we ate the night before. Served in the all-day dining restaurant The Terrace on the Corniche. The choices are endless, a bit of Arabic food, healthy smoothies and fresh juices, fresh fruits, and other delicacies.
There is also a fantastic spa at the St. Regis Abu Dhabi. The Remède is one of the largest spa in the UAE with 3,000 square meters. We did not have time to try any of the services this time around unfortunately. Instead we went to The Nation Riviera Beach Club (accessible through a beautiful underground tunnel) for a bit of sunshine before our check out.
It was hard saying goodbye to The St. Regis Abu Dhabi, we loved the warm hospitality and certainly did not mind getting spoiled one bit.
